Travelers will now be able to use their Android devices to navigate Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to the Broward County Aviation Department.

Airport officials said Tuesday that Google Maps has introduced new, expanded coverage of indoor locations in the U.S. and Japan, including the Fort Lauderdale airport. 

Google Maps will allow Android users to find airport gates, restrooms, food and drink and garage layouts. 

In addition to some airports, other indoor locations featured in Google Maps will include department stores and shopping malls.

Jet Blue flight attendant Juddy Lora tested the feature on her smart phone inside terminal 2.

"It is showing that we are in Red Mango and we are walking forward. To my left, it's showing Chili's Grill and Bar," Lora said.

A blue dot on her screen showed Lora where she was as she moved.

Lora said getting lost inside the airport might soon be a thing of the past.

"I like that. That's really good, really helpful," she said.

Those who wish to use their Android devices to navigate the airport must update Google Maps to the 6.0 version by visiting the Google Maps entry in Android Market.

FLL Airport Spokesperson Greg Meyer said the map can only be accessed inside the airport for security reasons. The floor plan given to Google did not include secure areas.
